What Page Optimizer Does
Four-step pipeline that takes an existing page from current state to optimized state:
- Full SEO audit of the existing page
- Competitive analysis of what's outranking
- Content rewrite targeting identified gaps
- Formatting polish for readability and passage extraction
Required inputs: URL + current page title.
Step 1: Full On-Page Audit
For the URL, evaluate:
Keywords:
- Current primary and secondary keywords (what the page is trying to rank for)
- Suggested improved target keywords based on volume + competition
- LSI and entity terms missing from content
Meta Tags:
- Title tag: under 60 chars? Keyword in first 5 words? Click-worthy?
- Meta description: 150-160 chars? Contains keyword? Includes CTA?
- Write optimized replacements for both
Heading Structure:
- H1: exact match or close to primary keyword?
- H2 count and order: do they cover the full topic scope?
- H3s: are they question-format? Do they cover PAA targets?
- Recommend improved heading structure
Content Depth:
- Word count vs. top-ranking competitor word count
- Entity coverage: which entities do top-ranking competitors include that this page lacks?
- Featured snippet opportunities: which H3s have no corresponding 40-60 word answer block?
Technical On-Page:
- Image alt text completeness
- Internal links: 3+? Descriptive anchors?
- External citation links: 2+? Authoritative domains?
- Schema: FAQPage, Article, or appropriate type present?
- Author attribution visible?
Step 2: Competitive SERP Analysis
Pull the top 5 organic results for the primary keyword:
- Record word count for each
- Extract H2 structure
- Identify entities and sub-topics covered
- Note answer format used (definition, list, table, procedure)
- Find content gaps: what do top 5 cover that current page does not?
Calculate: target word count = average of top 3 word counts + 15%.
Step 3: Content Rewrite
Rewrite the page incorporating:
- Optimized H1 (primary keyword in first 5 words)
- New word count target (from competitive analysis)
- All identified entity gaps addressed
- Question-format H3s with 40-60 word answer blocks
- Featured snippet optimization for 3+ H3s
- Updated internal links with descriptive anchors
- New external citations from authoritative sources
- Author attribution section
Preserve: The page's core point of view and tone. The rewrite improves coverage, not the fundamental message.
Step 4: Formatting Polish
After rewrite, apply:
- Break paragraphs over 4 sentences into 2 shorter paragraphs
- Convert any prose comparisons to tables
- Convert any procedural prose to numbered lists
- Ensure every H3 is immediately followed by an answer block (not a question-restatement)
- Add callout boxes for key statistics (markdown blockquote format)
- Verify heading hierarchy (no H3 without parent H2, no H4 without parent H3)
Delivery Format
Page optimization outputs:
- Audit findings table (before state)
- Competitive benchmark data (what you're targeting)
- Rewritten page content (complete, ready to publish)
- New title tag and meta description
- Schema markup recommendation
